| Colorado Central Baggage Car #1 In 1873 Colorado Central acquired Baggage Car #1 from the Union Pacific Railroad for a price of $2300. It is unclear as to who the real builder of the car was, but more than likely it was a knock-down provided by some eastern builder such as Jackson and Sharp and merely assembled by the U.P. shops.
The car changed owners several times before being retired in 1939 wearing Colorado & Southern colors. As late as 1965 the body was being used as a shed at Longmont, Colorado. This kit is constructed out of laser cut Aircraft grade plywood and Basswood dimensional lumber. For stiffness the walls and roof are constructed from several layers of plywood. This kit comes with detailed Westinghouse Air Brakes mounted to the undercarriage. Included are additional brake details for the Hartland trucks, all the needed glazings for the doors and clerestory windows, door hinges and knobs and all necessary end platform castings. The cargo and passenger doors are operational.
The kit also comes with metal wheel set, Kadee couplers and a full set of decals
