Timber Framed Sawmill This is a structure of our own design that is loosely based on the building that houses my uncles mill. The overhead gantry crane is used to remove the logs from the log ramp and place them on the rip saw traveler. The gantry framing is held in tension with steel rods and on my uncle's building, it is rated at 20 tons. Quite amazing once you consider that the center support columns are pushed out almost to the exterior posts. Our kit consists of laser and machine sawn wood. Most of which is milled from cypress lumber. All wooden members (except the floor joists and floor panels) are held together with scale nuts, washers and bolts with 95% of all needed bolt holes predrilled. Which equates to over 1000 nuts, bolts, washers and lag screws. The gantry's tie rods are steel rods, already threaded to accept the nuts. The roofing material is real corrugated aluminum sheets with aluminum cap flashings. The post footings are cast out of hydraulic cement. The building you see in the pic's, has been outside for over two years. There is no sealant or preservatives applied. Beings that the floor panels are build out of plywood, they are made to be removed and stored inside. Everything else has endured the brunt of the ever changing midwest weather. Expect assembly to take several weeks. DIMENSIONS: Width - 37.75" Depth - 19.5" Height - 18" $995.00 (Three week lead time needed for production) Kit# SMS-02 CLICK ON IMAGES FOR LARGER PICTURE |
