South Pacific Coast, Caboose #47 Bronson-Tate is pleased to announce that we have released our next Carter Passenger Car. SPC Caboose #47 and her three sisters, were built by the Carter Brothers Company in 1882. Although they look like short combines, there were really classified as cabooses as their interiors were rather sparse. Number 47 was the last caboose to operate on the SPCRR. It is also the only one of the four to survive. This kit is constructed out of laser cut Aircraft grade plywood and Basswood dimensional lumber. For stiffness the walls and roof are constructed from several layers of plywood. There are two different trucks styles that are included in the kit. One is the Hartland Passenger trucks with the needed brake parts. The second, is a arch beam truck that is made from white metal castings and wooden beams. Also included are all the needed glazing for the doors and clerestory windows, door hinges and knobs and all necessary end platform castings. The cargo, passenger doors and windows are operational.
The kit also comes with Sierra Valley metal wheel set, fully sprung Link & Pin couplers and a full set of decals
We are now shipping this kit. Everyone who has asked to be put on the reserve list should have been notified about payment methods. If you have not been contacted, please resubmit your request. .
